Nodes and Edges

Nodes

Nodes (or “actors”) are the operational units studied in a network. In our area of interest these might be research groups, institutes, enterprise units, Library / professional services, communities.

Note

In our dataset each row = one node

Edges

Edges (or “ties”) are the connected relationships between nodes. Edges might represent collaboration, engagement, shared people.

Note

In our dataset edges will be created from lists of nodes which have a relationship with the node represented by each row.
